If you’re answering no to these questions continue and check he’s well attached – click here to go to D – Baby’s Sucking. Check He’s Well Attached

If you are answering yes to these questions take your baby off your breast by sliding your little finger into the corner of his mouth to break the suction.

Allowing him to keep sucking when not properly attached will cause you pain and damage and he will not have a proper feed.

Follow the A B C  to position your baby and attach him again – click here to go to A – Postioning

Remember you are both learning. Take a deep breath, keep calm and keep trying.

Is your baby getting distressed? For ideas to calm him down refer to the FAQs section “How can I get my baby to feed when he’s crying so much?”
