Your baby should end the feed himself by coming off the breast

You shouldn’t try to rush him. Look out for a flutter-like suck before your baby comes off the breast. This is him getting the last drops of fat at the end of the feed. Click here to see Hint & Tips – The Magic of Milk

  • When you’ve finished feeding, your breasts should feel softer and less full than before the feed
  • Your nipple should look as it did before the feed and NOT flattened, squashed or sore
  • Your baby should be calm and seem satisfied
